(Part 2 coming later.)
Opening:
Learn the philosophies behind building your own snares to generate higher profits. View an Alaskan trapper, and devoted teacher of the sciences, discuss the importance of learning new skills to help you become a more efficient trapper. "Building your own snares is fun, easy and much cheaper than buying pre-built snares."

1-Tools:
Don't spend hundreds of dollars on tools that you won't be able to use for anything else. Chances are you already have the tools needed to build your own snares or, you can purchase all of these tools at garage sales very cheaply. See how well a very cheap pair of swaggers can save you time.

2-Supplies:
Learn what types of supplies Alaskan trappers have proven to work for wolf, wolverine, lynx, fox and beaver. See the difference between the types of snare cable used and what makes a better snare. Examine lock types and choose the best lock for your uses.

3-Building:
See how it's done close-up. Follow along as I show you each and every step. Find out what it takes to build a snare that most likely won't fail you. When you build your own house, do you cut corners? Why risk paying for store bought snares that are mass produced in quantity when you can build your own the way you like them to be with quality.

4-Add #9 Wire:
In this chapter I'll show you how to add #9 wire to your snare to use as a support and anchor system when setting. See how this is done quickly and easily. Then see how to wrap it all up in a nice and neat little package that you can transport to the trap line with no hassle at all.

5-Boiling:
Boiling your snares is a fundamental importance when it comes to dealing with certain types of animals. Learn how the experienced Alaskan trapper deals with boiling snares. Also, learn how to make boiling snares in large quantities easier.

6-Setting:
Also included in the instructional learning module are several minutes of discussion and "show how" that covers setting your snares. See how to set a snare with either a light or heavy trigger. Learn how to set the trigger to target the species you wish to catch.

7-Swivel Snare:
Sometimes you may need a "swivel snare" especially when trying to trap the ever so ferocious wolverine or even the river otter. Learn how to attach #9 wire to your snare to make it a "swivel snare". Once again, there is no need for expensive tools or pre-made supplies for this.

8-Alternatives:
See and learn how you can build your own snares even if you lack some of the basic tools. My main goal is to help you save money. The last thing I want is for you to have to spend more money just to acquire even the simplest tools to complete the task. See what you can do if you don't have a vice or other tools.

Chapters 1-7 discuss snare cable in great detail. A considerable amount of time is spent teaching about the different classes and types as well as snare cable properties such as speed, strength, flexability and surface profile. Additionally, you will learn what size cable to use for nearly all species of animals that you intend to snare.

Chapters 8-13 deals with the vast assortment of snare locks on the market. Not only will you learn to identify most of the major brands and types of locks but also how the different types work and how they compare with each other in terms of speed.

Chapter 14 gives a close look at other snare parts and how or where these parts are used. Everything from deer stops and double ferrels to J-hooks and dispatch springs are discussed and shown.

Chapters 15-18 begins the construction process by building the trailing end of the snare first. Learn different ways to build the trailing end and how the trailing end is used to anchor the snare. In almost every situation the trailing end is the first part of the snare to be built.

Chapter 19 talks about using support collars and wammys to support the snare in the set position.

Chapters 20-23 teaches there are four different ways to use #9 wire for the trailing end of the snare. First, you are shown four types of #9 wire connections and then you are shown how to build each one. A discussion regarding the use of #9 wire over snare cable for the trailing end is included as well as how to set and anchor the snare using #9 wire.

Chapter 24 shows numerous lock area configurations. Nearly every possible combination of snare locks, deer stops, break-away devices and dispatch springs is shown so that you can complete the building of the exact type of snare you need. Once you have built the trailing end of the snare, all you need to do now is install the rest of the parts as shown in the video to complete the snare.
