Commonly Used Wolf Traps in Alaska

Alaska #9  (Manning) Most popular wolf trap used in Alaska. Built by hand in Fairbanks Alaska.
MB 750 Wolf Plus Not as popular as the #9 because of its reduced spring tension. A cheap alternative to the 9 but is slower on the trigger.
Alaska #9 vs. MB 750   In each photo here the Alaska #9 is on the left and the MB 750 is on the right.
CDR 7.5 Wolf/Cougar
Bridger #5 Alaskan Becoming a popular alternative to more expensive traps. Long spring trap similar to the Newhouse 4 1/2 in appearance.
Bridger Special
Newhouse 4 1/2 Long spring trap. Before 9's, most trappers used these, 114s and the Bridger #5s.
Blake & Lamb 44 Probably not as many of these in use today. Still a quality wolf trap that has caught many wolves in its day.
Newhouse 114 This 114 comes with teeth which are not allowed in many states these days. Still in use today. Brings a high price on eBay.
Sterling Small for wolf but is still used in some situations.

Not so common anywhere anymore.

Old Spanish Wolf Trap This trap is not commonly used. Just thought I'd put this picture in to show how some trap designs have changed over time.
